Updating Deacom Licenses

Deacom Licensing Process

The steps below provide details on how to upload and apply the supplied Deacom License. The license will be supplied by Deacom Support and may be applied by the customers themselves. To obtain the license contact ECI-Deacom Support.

17.01 and Below

  1. Place the supplied Deacom update license executable in the “Addins” folder within the appropriate Deacom system.
  2. Locate the executable file and double click to run.
  3. A window will be displayed indicating the current expiration date and the new expiration date.
  4. Click “Apply” to update the license and complete the process.

17.02 Only

  1. Place the supplied Deacom update license file in the “Addins” folder within the appropriate Deacom system. If the system is Cloud based, a member of the Cloud team will place the file in the “Addins” folder.
  2. Ensure any previous license files are removed from the “Addins” folder.
  3. Within the Deacom environment navigate to File > About Deacom and click “Update License”.
  4. The new license is now in place. For users to see any updates in the About Deacom form, they should log out and back in. No need to restart the web services.

If you do not see the Update License button enabled within the File > About Deacom form, be sure to check the user’s security settings within the Deacom application and ensure they have permission to the security setting ‘File -- update license’.

17.03 and Above

  1. The file generated should be provided to the customer for any license updates and to the cloud team for any new installs.
  2. The customer should then go to File > About Deacom within their Deacom environment and click “Update License”, then select the file provided to them.
  3. The new license is now in place. For users to see any updates in the About Deacom form, they should log out and back in. No need to restart the web services.

Notes:

  • If the customer is creating a test environment and using their production system (with a non expired license) to create the test environment, the licensing will carry over.
  • If the customer does not see the Update License button enabled within the File > About Deacom form, they may need to check their security settings within the Deacom application and ensure they have permission to the security setting ‘File -- update license’.
  • Beginning in version 17.01.143, the security setting "System -- suppress license expiration prompt" security can be used to turn off the warning prompt for those users that don't need to see it.
  • If the customers license is already expired:
    • Restart their web services after placing the file into the "Addins" folder of their environment.
