Remote Access

Anytime a user wants to access DEACOM off-premises, whether from home, on the road, or through a cell phone network, a remote solution is required.

DEACOM Classic

Remote access in DEACOM Classic is accessing it in a WAN or remote environment (i.e. Terminal Server, Remote Desktop, Citrix). If a large bandwidth connection that uses MPLS with prioritized SQL packets exist, this could be used but there is 10-100ms latency in WAN connection. If using external remote access, a VPN solution should be in place to allow for secured access. For security purposes, DEACOM does not allow printing through redirected printers over terminal services.

DEACOM Web

DEACOM Web is a renovation of the existing DEACOM business logic with a modern web based interface. The same features exist as in DEACOM Classic, but with a more intuitive way of interacting with the software. There are many benefits, including interface improvements, device flexibility, and expanded features.

  • Ability to deploy system through web browsers.
  • Allows for easier integration with mobile devices.
  • Improves ability to evolve and stay relevant.
  • Allows system to take advantage of newest technology.
  • Provides a framework for unit and integration testing.
  • Device independence
  • DEACOM Web can run on many separate devices with little or no installation, as long as a web browser can run and the proper security and access protocols are followed. This means devices can easily be switched in and out of service for supporting ERP functions.

Internet-wide distribution

DEACOM Web can be configured to be accessed from anywhere in the world, or can be tightened down to only be accessed from a single computer. Modern web-based security can be set up with whatever architecture is appropriate for the organization to provide broad-based access while still maintaining a secure environment. The new Web Services support the use of the web interface and the Mobile applications that are available with DEACOM.
