Deacom Test System Builder
Deacom offers
Notes:
-
The PC/Server running the TestSystemBuilder.exe executable must have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or later installed.
- Once the test system has successfully been created, users should check the deacom.ini file to ensure the paths contained in that file are correct. Additional information on the use and setup of the .ini file is available via DEACOM Ini File.
Running the Test System Builder
- Navigate to the root Deacom directory and select the testsystembuilder.exe executable file. If possible, run the TestSystemBuilder on the machine that houses the SQL Server so that the proper permissions are in place.
- Input the information prompted for, as shown below, and click "Save".
- Test System Folder: Set this to be the location where you will be installing your test environment. You must create a new folder in which to install the new environment.
- Test Database Folder: Display only. Indicates the current defaults for SQL Server Management Studio for both mdf and ldf files.
- Server: Displays the SQL Server as entered in the deacom.ini file where you launched the TestSystemBuilder.exe. Enter the server where your test databases will be created within SQL.
- Test Service Port: Defaults to 92.
- Test Web Port: Default to 8081. If no value is entered, goes to production defaults.
- Test Database Name: Here you can specifically enter the name of the test databases before proceeding with the creation of your test environment. This function automatically creates a new database in SQL based off Deacom's default database naming scheme. This field is automatically populated in the Test System Builder with “Test”. For example, if your current naming scheme is Deacom, DeacomSystem, and DeacomDocs your new test databases will be named Test, TestDocs, and TestSystem. In the case of a Multi-Company system, you will be prompted to enter a database name for each company. This field may not be left blank.
- Test Company Name: Similar to the Test Database Name, you have the ability to enter a new company name for your test environment. The Test System Builder automatically populates with **TEST**. You may change the default name. This field may not be left blank.
