Deacom 16.06 Release Notes
Please reference the DEACOM suggested update path prior to installing DEACOM updates.
Accounting
- Receivables Reports - Additional Past Due Columns - Two new variables/columns are available for the Receivables Summary - Billing Group, Receivables Summary - Bill-to, and Receivables Summary - Ship-to reports/grid layouts in both the Accounting > Accounting Reporting and Sales > Customers area. These variables are: totdue91_120 - sums any receivables that are 91 to 120 days old. totdue121 - sums any receivables greater than 120 days old. Added to assist companies with distinguishing between receivables that are only 90 days overdue from those that are more than 120 days overdue. 120+ past due invoices may be uncollectable and may need to be categorized separately in summarized reports.
Calendar
- Calendar View Options - A new option, "Day View", has been added to the Schedule Type field on the calendar selection pre-filter and the Master Production Calendar can now be switched from Day to Week view. The "Day View" option is available when selecting a calendar type of Sales, Sales Inventory, or Master Production. The "View" button on the Master Production calendar can be toggled between Day or Week view. Day view is the default.
EDI
- Creating Ship-To Records with Bill-To Record Defaults - The Parsing Rule form, via System > Maintenance > EDI Imports, was enhanced so that when creating a new Ship To Company using the "Lookup or Create" type, and a Bill-To Company is being created as well during the EDI Import, and a Ship-To Company is not specified in the "Create Same As" field, the system will use the values from the new Bill-To Company to set the defaults on the newly created Ship-To Company. Note that if the import profile has a specific parsing rule for any dmship fields, the system will use those instead of copying from the Bill-To Company.
- Field Defaults During EDI Bill-to and Ship-To Creation - The Parsing Rule form was enhanced so that when using the "Create Same-As" button to create a Bill-To or Ship-To via EDI Import the system will prevent the following fields from being imported: Name, Contact, Phone, Ext, DBA, Streets, City, State, Zip, Country, County, Fax, Email, Dear, Salutation, Notes. The code was also changed to add an empty string to the specified fields above so that they are not imported unless explicitly done so by using a parsing rule. This was done to ensure that a Bill-To or Ship-To that is created via EDI Import will NEVER have its address or contact fields populated from the "source" Bill-To or Ship-To.
- Setting General Ledger Overrides for new Bill-To/Ship-To Companies during EDI Import - The "Field" field on the Edit Parsing Rule form now contains all GL Override fields (all fields in the dmover table) These fields are only available when the "Transaction Type" field on the EDI Import form is set to "Sales Order" and only when using the Lookup or Create option on Bill-To/Ship-To records.
Forecasting
- Moving Average, Weighted Moving Average, and Linear Regression Forecasts - Users have the option to create Forecasts using moving average and linear regression logic. Details are available via the Creating and Modifying Forecasts page.
Inventory
- Adding Expiration Dates During a Physical Inventory - The new "Expiration Date" field has been added to both the Edit Worksheet Item and Edit Count Sheet Line forms. The addition of this field supports the addition of expiration dates for "found" lots/items. The field will be marked as required if an item has it's "Require Expiration Date" property flag checked. Additional information is available via the Completing a Physical Inventory page.
- Copy Formulator - Check box added to the Mark The Same As form. This will help the user distinguish when they want to include formulator information as they copy BOMs.
- WMS Form Layout for Physical Inventory - When customizing in the main application there is now an option to show or remove an expiration date from the form. Originally, this was not listed in the order in Main App but by default appears in WMS.
MRO
- Maintenance Task Grouping - Maintenance (MRO) tasks are now grouped by part number id, due date, and Work Center ID when creating jobs. In situations where two maintenance tasks are the exact same, they will not be merged into a single job if they belong to different Work Centers.
MRP
- Partially Issuing Material and "+Issued" Bucket Visibility - Beginning in version 16.06, in situations where inventory is partially issued to a job, only the amount that has already been issued will be displayed in the +Issued row in the current bucket. The additional requirement that the job calls for of the item will remain in the +issued row within the bucket when it is needed to be issued to the job.
Printed Reports
- Assigning Printers when uploading attachments - The "Print Destination" field has been added to the Edit Document Entry form which is available when adding a document in the system via the "View Docs" button. If a printer is specified here, the attached document will be printed here instead of the printer defined in the "Print Destination" field on the Report Layout or Part Form.
Production
- Shift search box added to close/relieve form - the "Shift" field has been added to the Close/Relieve form via Production > Job Reporting. This field allows companies to record the shift responsible for finishing materials or closing the job.
- Lot Expiration Calculation Options - Two new variables have been added to the "Lot Expires Calc" field in Inventory > Options. These two variables support the ability to determine the expiration date of finished goods when both the finished good and supporting sub assemblies have different self life and the "Propagate Expiration Date" will normally only bring over the shelf life/expiration date for the sub assembly. For example, assume a sub-assembly has a shelf life of 60 days, but the finished good has a shelf life of 6 months. Using only the "Propagate Expiration Date" from the sub assembly does not factor in the 6 month shelf life set on the finished good.
- Un-relieve expensed materials as a job is re-opening - When re-opening a job, if there is any expensed material, clicking Save will display a prompt asking the user "Would you like to un-relieve the expensed lots from this job?"
- Security to Add New Operations - Deacom version 16.06.058 adds a specific security setting to control which users can add Operations in the system. Previously, users would need to be restricted from accessing the Production Maintenance area to control this option. This new security also applies when clicking the "Add New" button in the Operations search field throughout the system, for example, via the "View Payroll" button on Jobs.
Purchasing
- Edit Ship Via Methods form - New fields have been added to the "Edit Ship Via" form to allow the user to specify if the Ship Via's address and contact information should be used over the Ship-To's.
Reporting
- Auto Export to FTP/SFTP - An FTP tab has been added to the Auto Export form, allowing users to export files to an FTP/SFTP client.
- Password protect printouts - Users can generate encrypted, password protected PDF and Excel documents for any printed DEACOM report layout or an export to Excel from the DEACOM toolbar.
Sales
- Facility Specific Order Defaults - The Facilities tab on the Edit Bill-To Company and Edit Ship-To Company form allows use to set Facility specific defaults by Ship-To Company records. These Facility specific defaults will be used, and not the defaults on the Order Defaults tab of the Ship-To record, when the specified Facility is selected for this Ship-To during Sales Order entry. Useful in situations where companies have different sales order defaults and requirements based on the facility shipping goods. Business Case example: The default Ship Via Method for one state may be a regional delivery service that is cheaper then UPS, but in another state, for the same customer, they have to use UPS.
- Broker Commission Accrual - A separate account for Brokers to obtain commission accrual on a Sales Order has been added in Accounting Options, titled "Broker Comm Accrual". Having this distinct account makes it much simpler to split apart the commission to the proper accounts.
- Show Lines With Zero Left to Reserve - A flag has been added in the Sales Options shipping tab, "Show Lines with Zero Left to Reserve", which will display items with a quantity of zero when issuing material for a sales order. The user can then also add additional quantity that will be added to the original sales quantity, including on WMS.
Shipping
- Header User Defined Fields - The sales order "Header UDF" button, available to view and modify Sales Order header UDFs from the Shipping form.
Tools
- Territory User-Defined Fields - Added the ability to create Territory UDFs in Tools > Maintenance > User Fields. This can make it much easier to see important values such as sales rep commissions through various reports. These user-defined fields can also be used in the Commission expressions themselves.
- EDI Import - Auto-receipt functionality for intercompany transfers added to EDI.
