Deacom 15.05 Release Notes

Please reference the DEACOM suggested update path prior to installing DEACOM updates.

Cash Register

  • Cash Register Scale Integration - DEACOM now supports the use of scales for items that are sold by weight. See the "Using scales in the POS application" section for more information.
  • Cash Register Do Not Post Inventory - Items on sales order lines can now be marked as "Do Not Post Inventory." This option is useful during the return process. Additional information is available via the Processing Return help section.

eCommerce

  • Sales Order Defaults - The Customer Defaults tab on the eCommerce Sites form now allows users to specify default Sales Search 1-5, Work Flow and Sales Reps fields. If specified, the values in these fields, and not the ones of the selected ship-to record, provide the defaults when creating new in orders in eCommerce.
  • Syncing eCommerce Tables - Users now have greater flexibility in choosing how to sync records in DEACOM's eCommerce application via the eCommerce Sync Tables form, available via Tools > Maintenance > eCommerce Sites. The form allows users to sync individual tables as well as the option to only sync records that have been added or modified in those tables since the last sync. The feature saves time when syncing tables containing a large amount of records or in situations where a new DEACOM table has been added and the table needs to be synced regardless if new records have been added or modified.
  • eCommerce Error Log Moved - Beginning in version 15.05.084, the eCommerce Error Log has been moved from the Edit eCommerce Site form to System > History / Performance in order to improve performance when using the eCommerce application.
  • API Call Log - A new flag, "Log API Calls", has been added to the General tab on the Edit eCommerce Site form. If this flag is checked, eCommerce API calls will be logged to the Microsoft Windows Event Viewer. Useful for diagnosing session issues, such as when carts and users are no longer recognized by the session.
  • Available Credit Information - The User/GetBillTo/ endpoint now contains the "availcred" field. If the "bi_credflag" flag on the Bill To record is set to true for the logged in customer, this field will calculate the available credit for the customer and return this information in the call. This information will be made available to the front end in order to determine if payment is needed or the order can be placed on credit.

FedEx

  • FedEx With Suite - A new default address validation type, FedEx With Suite, has been added to the Security tab in System > Options. When using this option, if the validated address requires a suite number or has an invalid suite number, the user is now able to enter one. This validation type is useful when utilizing master orders which may require multiple ship-to address validations per order. With this validation type enabled, the system will provide users with the exact ship-to(s) that are missing the required suite number.
  • FedEx Service Type Validation Check - When a Sales Order or Master Order is created or modified, a Service Type validation check is now automatically performed to ensure that any Ship Via(s) with a FedEx Service Type attached to the order are valid for the selected Ship-To Address(es). The validation check is also performed when a Ship-To Company is created or modified, with the system checking to see if the Ship Via specified on the Order Defaults tab contains a FedEx Service Type and if the address on the Ship-to is valid for the Service Type selected. A typical example for FedEx is Next Day and Next Day Priority. Rural address often does not support AM delivery, but can use Next Day PM delivery.

Inventory

  • Pre-Staging Sales Order Filtering - The Inventory > Pre-Staging transaction in the main DEACOM application has been modified so that when setting the Transaction Type field to "Sales Orders" and the Type field to "Reserved," the mover form will only show orders that have inventory left to reserve. Orders that are fully reserved will not be displayed.
  • Filter by Order Type - We have added the option to isolate ICT when using Inventory > Pre-Staging. Users can filter by Order Type by selecting one of the following: All, Inter-Company Transfers, or Sales Orders.
  • Filter by Type - Added ability to bulk un-reserve sales orders through the Un-Reserve option on the Staging1 form, in addition to Location, Reserved and Staging.
  • Inputting Quantities for Staged Lots with Multiple Records - A new field, "Input Quantities When Moving From Direct Staging", has been added to Inventory > Options. When this field is checked, and "Staging-Job" or "Staging-Sale" is selected in either the "Move To" and "Move From" field via Inventory > Move, the "Quantity" field will be enabled on the form. The default quantity will be set to the total staged quantity for the specified Job or Sales Order. Useful is situations when moving a staged lot that has two of the same user or lot in the same location and users need to enter specific quantities.

Point of Sale

  • Tare Weight - Optional field in an Order Entry form to add a Tare Weight to part numbers with a stock unit of "Weight", which will subtract from the scaled quantity to give a true quantity.

Print Outs

  • Print Substitution, Report Layout, and Part Form User Fields - User Fields are now available to Print Substitution Groups, Part Forms, and Report Layouts.

Production

  • Expiration Dates - A new field, "Expires," has been added to the Input Production and Job Close/Relieve forms. The field allows users to set the expiration date when finishing lots in the system.

Purchasing

  • Invoice All Option - A new button, "Invoice All," has been added to the Purchasing > Enter Vendor Invoices transaction. The button is available via the Orders To Be Invoiced form when using the "Show Orders" button. The option is useful when attempting to apply a single vendor invoice to several purchase orders, including backorders, without processing each one individually.
  • Lot Locations - A new variable, "lotloc" has been added to the Receiver report. The variable shows the lot location name for received items.

Sales

  • Master Orders - Starting with version 15.05.006, Master Orders, those created for a single Bill-to and multiple Ship-to's, are available for use. Using this configuration, each Ship-to on the Master Order will have its' own 'Child' order with any number of lines. The addition of this order type allows a company to create one order for a Bill-to, select all Ship-to's that will be on the order, add line items to each Ship-to, and manage Ship-to lines individually. The creation of the child orders happen upon the initial save of the master order. Child orders are then shipped individually and once all child orders are shipped, the master order is considered shipped. While shipments occur against child orders, the associated invoicing and payment functions occur against the master order.
  • Credit Cards - Clear Authorization Or Re-Authorize For Multiple Orders - Users now have the ability to clear credit card authorizations or re-authorize credit card authorizations for multiple orders on the Credit Card Authorizations report via Sales > Sales Order Management. Additional information is available in the Credit Card Authorizations report type description via Sales > Sales Order Management.
  • User-Defined Gift Card Numbers - Users now have the option to define how gift card numbers will be generated via the new "User-Defined" option in the "Gift Card # Generation" field via Sales > Options.

Security

  • Jobs--Close,Re-Open Or Relieve - The "Jobs--Close,Re-Open Or Relieve" security has been split into two separate securities, "Jobs -- close or relieve" and "Jobs -- re-open jobs."

User Interface

  • European Number Formats - DEACOM offers the ability to display numbers in different formats on grids and layouts throughout the system when cultural settings are set to the appropriate language. This is accomplished by setting cultural settings on the server running the web service or web console via Control Panel > Region > Administrative Tab > change system locale (language for non-unicode programs).
