Issue Master Lot WMS

The issue master lot feature allows individual items to be grouped or issued into one combined lot, called a master lot. An example might be a pallet of dissimilar items such as machine parts or miscellaneous bags and boxes of bulk ingredients. The pallet will be identified by a unique inventory location. This allows the entire lot to be moved in one single inventory move as opposed to individual moves for each item.

Inv Status

Pick list used to indicate if Lots in regular Inventory, or Staging will be used. This should be editable when issuing to a new master lot for the first lot being added, after that the field should become locked and preset to the status from the already allocated lot. This field allows the user to select a staged lot and issue it to a new master lot.

  • Available beginning in version 17.04.003.
  • When selecting a lot in a status of “staging” during the shipping process, via Modify > Select Lots in the Sales > Ship transaction, the system will ship the lot provided the lot is not in the middle of the Final Staging process (where st_stagcnt = 0).

Note: The Inventory Status can be set on the first item to be issued to a new master lot. This gives users the ability to issue lots not in inventory status to new master lots.

Print Label

Prints master lot label with master lot number once changes have been saved.

  • Note: If the print label box is checked, then the user will be presented with the printer selection form when completing the transaction. The printer selection form contains options to select the number of copies to print, the printer where the labels will be printed and the remember settings field. The remember settings field contains a drop down box with three options: Line, Order and Never. Line sets the functionality of remembering the print settings just for the selected line. Order will remember your print settings during the whole order, and Never will not retain any print settings.

Use Entire Lot

If selected, the system will use the entire quantity of the selected lot when issuing to the master lot.

Next

Saves the lot and quantity data and refreshes the form so that additional items can be entered. The system will automatically select the "Next" button after scanning a barcode if a lot is found with the valid move quantity.

Find

Displays a list of available lots for the selected item. Once the list of lots have been displayed, the "Details" button can be used to see additional lot information. After a lot has been selected click the "Choose" button to use this lot or "Exit" to close without selecting.

Previous

Navigates back to the previous item.

Issue

Issues all items/quantities/lots and creates a master lot in the system. A confirmation screen will appear indicating all items have been issued.

Details

Displays what was already issued to the master lot. Specifically it will show the part number, unit and count. If nothing has been reserved to the master lot hitting this button does nothing.

  • Note: The security setting "WMS -- Require confirmation of master lot contents" controls if the user will be prompted or not prompted when issuing to a master lot that already contains issued quantities.

Exit

Cancels the issuing process and exits to the main WMS menu. Lots scanned previously will not be issued.

  • Note: An exit confirmation screen will be displayed if there are lots pending issue.

Notes:

  • The system does allow issuing partial items from one Master Lot to another.
  • Users can scan a GS1-128 barcode with just serial number, part number, and quantity. In this case, a user lot or system lot is not required since the serial number is more specific then a user or system lot.
  • Item Planner user restrictions apply when issuing materials to master lots, both in the main and WMS applications.
  • Users now have the ability to issue/reserve inventory that is currently contained in a master lot directly to a job or sales order without having to de-issue/un-reserve the material from the master lot. For example, if scanning a lot label that contains a master lot, the WMS application will display the master lot chooser form, allowing users to issue material from the master lot directly to the job. In addition, in the main application and WMS, users will have the ability to issue to a job/sales order and master lots all at once via the "To Master Lot" searchbox on the Issue/Reserve Inventory form. Now, when issuing to jobs/sales orders in the system where required material is available in a master lot(s), the system will display the applicable master lots in the list when issuing. A business case example for this necessity would be situations where every single job will not be pre-weighed in a single session. In this situation, if something is short, and workers begin making the Master Lot anyway, they will need to be able to add to it later when the shortage is resolved.
